As part of the Queens Green Canopy – Plant a Tree for the Jubilee, the Parish Council held their first tree planting ceremony yesterday with children from four local schools. St Wilfrids, Thelwall Infant and Juniors, Bradshaw Lane and Grappenhall Heys all participated with Dave Hockenhull the current Chair of the Parish Council officiating. This is the first of a number of events we are planning in the next twelve months. The oak tree saplings were kindly donated by Carole Cummings from the Tree Nursery in Church Lane, Grappenhall.
The Woodland Trust are also hosting a number of Community Tree planting events as part of the Queen’s initiative. Trees are available to order through the Trust (further details can be found on their website).
